In the spring of 1997, I was asked to do a painting to be reproduced and sold as a fund-raising project for Davie County High School. I wanted to do a snow scene that would capture the charm of this small town, Mocksville, North Carolina. Since the prints were to be sold in the fall, just prior to the holidays, I chose to do this view of the downtown area during the Holiday Season. I had always wanted to do a small town holiday piece. So, this was my opportunity. I feel that the finished painting with the icy streets, falling snow and holiday lights can easily rekindle memories within all those who have either lived or grown up in a small town. Upon completion, the general public's response was so great that nearly half of all the prints had been sold even before their release date. The school raised enough money to put in an all new computer department. Artwork is a very personal thing. So, we put every effort into framing each piece individually to give my clients that personal touch. It's very rare that you will see my pieces framed alike. I want your friends to say "Wow!"
